Guide

How to make a product video from photos

You do not need a studio to make a convincing product video. Good photos, a clear benefit and a simple structure are enough. This guide shows how to turn two to five product photos into a short video that works on Instagram, TikTok and a product page: how to choose the photos, what to say in the first three seconds, how to add captions and an offer, and how to test versions to find what sells. The same method works for services too, where the photos show your work instead of a product. Whatever you sell, aim to show one clear thing in each scene and say one clear thing in each sentence.

Straight answer: Show the product honestly. Photos should look like the item customers will receive, and claims should be ones you can prove.

How it works

  1. 1

    Choose clear photos

Use a clean main image, a close-up of a detail and one lifestyle shot of the product in use.

  2. 2

Write a hook and three benefits

The hook is the problem or the result. The benefits are short and concrete, such as washes at 40 degrees or fits a 15 inch laptop.

  3. 3

Add the offer and call to action

State the offer, such as free delivery over a threshold, and tell viewers where to click.

  4. 4

    Render in vertical and square

Vertical for Reels, TikTok and Shorts, square or landscape for the product page.

  5. 5

    Test two or three hooks

Run each version for a few days with the same budget and keep the winner.
